The Margaretta Bowles Ladies' Auxiliary will assist Sons of Confederate Veterans Camp No. 2228 in its historical, educational, benevolent, and social functions, and will additionally undertake such independent activities as shall support its objectives.
The auxiliary takes its name from one of three sisters of Second Lieutenant John Bethel Bowles, Margaretta (1834 - 1887), a famed philanthropist and supporter of education.
The ladies' auxiliary takes as its symbol the goldenrod, state flower of Kentucky. Goldenrod has long been prized for its healing properties, and is a symbol of encouragement and endurance of effort.
Our Members:
Miss Alison Summer-Ramirez - Regent
Mrs. Amber Stobbs - Vice-Regent for Correspondence
